It’s the story of a typical British man in his early 60’s, Geoff, who suddenly finds himself faced with serious health issues. This is a direct result of the way he has lived for most of his life – making unhealthy food choices and taking no exercise.
Now it catches up with him. He is diagnosed with Type2 diabetes and faces the possibility of foot amputation.
Luckily for Geoff, his two sons take it upon themselves to “fix him.” Pooh, poohed by the mainstream medical profession they are determined to reverse Geoff’s diabetes. Their cure……….
Healthy Eating and Exercise
Plus a mega dose of Mindset Change!
The boys set to work changing Geoff’s eating habits, replacing fat, sugar and greasy fry-ups with vegetables and grilled meat and fish. Then they got him on his bike. Cycling turned out to be the ideal exercise for Geoff as it didn’t put pressure on his feet.
After a few short bike rides, Geoff’s sons presented him with a challenge! To cycle the Prudential “Ride London.” A 100-mile bike ride!!
A Year of Transformation
The year of transformation that Geoff went through certainly had its ups and downs. At times it was extremely tough and very emotional. But he did it! Geoff completed the Prudential 100 in July 2015.
You can learn from Geoff’s experience.
Here are the 3 things Geoff changed:
1. Nutrition – our diets have become so laden with fat and sugar we don’t realise how much bad stuff we are putting in our bodies. Supermarkets and food manufacturers conspire to sell us the most unhealthy food. Step away from that and cook your own healthy meals. Ditch the sugary snacks and greasy takeaways!
2. Exercise – it does your body good and it makes you feel good! As a Personal Trainer I couldn’t be more committed to exercising as an integral part of a healthy lifestyle. Just do it!
3. Mindset – Geoff and his sons set themselves an achievable, if very tough, challenge. Geoff didn’t want to fail himself, and his family. Setting yourself a realistic goal is key to successful body transformation.
Do you need to “fix” your lifestyle. Can you follow in Geoff’s footsteps? (Geoff is lucky enough to still have both his feet!)
I hope you can. And if you need some help, I’d be delighted to work with you to ensure that you achieve your body transformation goal 🙂
